Barr Kennels breeds stylish, tough, bird finding dogs that will suit all styles of hunting, competition and most importantly companionship needs. Barr Kennels specializes in the breeding, selling and training of English Setters, English Pointers and Labrador Retrievers. Current bloodlines include: Tomoka's Smokin Mike, Tomoka's Smokin Blu, Tomoka's Smokin J.R. and Bozeann's Whiskey River.

Awards

Wes Barr ran first NSTRA trial in Odessa, Texas in 1991. It took good old West Texas wild bird dogs to run but figured out quickly that dogs needed a little more polish and class to compete in this venue. Bar Kennels began seriously campaigning dogs soon after hauling ours and our customers' dogs to local, regional and national events...

Since then, Wes has handled four different dogs to national final four and many many to final eight appearances, national championships, regional championships and high point dogs. Breeding and training are all a part of the history of Barr Kennels and our NSTRA career. Our dogs and breeding and training programs have become well known all over the country. Without over killing detail Wes has handled and/or owned dogs to over 45 NSTRA championships.

West Texas handler Wes Barr and 15X NSTRA Champion, English setter Tomoka's Smokin J.R. hit the road with determina- tion and fervor this year pocketing win after win; all the while remaining calm, cool and collected.
